What kind of photographer are you? I am a fun, laid back and easy going lifestyle photographer. I always snag those posed shots of you and the family but my favorite part is capturing the real love and emotions your all share together. In my session we get moving. We'll dance, play, run and jump or even snuggle up on a blanket and drink hot coco and throw snowballs. The seasons of Colorado bring along lots of options and ideas that we'll use throughout the session together. People tell me my sessions feel very natural and laid back. I will never ask you and the family to do anything that feels super awkward or unnatural to your nature.

What if my kids don't cooperate during our session? That is totally OK! Sometimes session feel hectic, crazy and like we're moving around too fast! That is totally fine. We will embrace it all! That is my favorite part of my work, catching all those little moments. As you've probably noticed from the examples of work on my site, I am all about the real moments verse everyone looking at the camera all perfectly and smiling. We'll let them run, jump, explore nature and even dance. Sessions are as long as they are to give us plenty of time to capture it all. Try your best not to tell them "no" or discipline them during the session as that is what can lead to teary eyes, like I said, we'll just embrace it all! The session will be about them, as they really are now. Bribing them with their favorite treats is never a bad idea either.

Do you have location ideas and at what time will the session be held? I have lots of GREAT location ideas! It's hard not to find a beautiful location here in the Rocky Mountains. Once a session is booked I will send along a list of the places I like to use best, along with photo examples.

I like to start my session about an hour and a half before sunset, as that gives best lighting! Plus/minus a few minutes depending on the location. Lighting is everything as I'm a natural light photographer! Please arrive ON TIME to your session as lighting is important and fleeting!

Morning sessions are offered at a few locations so always feel free to inquire about that time if that works best for you.

What should we wear to our session? I always say, Be Yourself. That is why you're getting these photographs done. To look back and remember you and your loved ones exactly as you were. If you have a little one that loves to run around in a cape, bring the cape! We can let them wear it at one point, it would make for some amazing shots!

Some color coordinating is never a bad idea, Pinterest has some great ideas on this. No crazy pattern or bright colors on just one person. Big logos are good to stay away from too, as all these tend to steal the eye when looking at the photos. Keep it natural and comfortable.

What if it rains or snows? The weather in Colorado is changing so frequently and fast sometimes. It can downpour or snowstorm then be sunny and bright moments later. One minute you're in a winter jacket, the next it's sunny and 20 degrees warmer in a tank top. Some people go into a photoshoot wanting a very specific result, which really isn’t my style, so let's embrace the craziness and surprises of real life, and we will capture the best authentic moments of you all, which is part of the reason I hope you are hiring me! If the weather gets bad I ask that we wait till the last moment to make any changes or reschedule. I will do my best to accommodate you! Believe it or not I usually get pretty lucky in sticking to the plan with my sessions! But know I stay as flexible as possible with making adjustments in dates, as I realize half my clientele is not from the area and only here for a short time. I will keep an eye as we approach your session date and if we have to make changes I'll be in contact to see what we can make work, and we'll be sure to find something, even if it's the next morning!

What do I receive as a final product and what is your turn around time? Final product depends on the chosen package. With family, couples/engagements, maternity or senior sessions you have two options, it is either 10 high res, digital, professionally edited images for "The Session", you being the one to pick those 10 images.

Or "The Whole Thing", ALL the best high res, digital, professionally edited images posted on your gallery for downloading. Guaranteeing 65+ images. For newborn sessions and mountain elopes you always receive ALL the best high res, digital, professionally edited images posted on your gallery for downloading. I can guarantee print quality if you purchase prints directly from your gallery link.

Turn around time is 2-3 weeks for family, couples/engagements, maternity and senior portraits.

I ask for up to 4 week for Mountain Elopes, always sending a sneak peek within first couple days!
